Frequently Asked Questions About Wukong's Math League Prep Course

Common parent questions, answered by Wukong Math’s experts.

Math League is a North American math contest organization. The Summer Challenge is its online contest, offered by grade level and open to all students, so parents can register their child directly. Each level has two contests: a Short Answer Contest of 10–15 questions (60 minutes) and a Speed Round Contest of 60 questions (45 minutes).

Yes. The Summer Challenge is harder than Kangaroo and easier than AMC 8, which makes it a friendly next step into competition math. We recommend the course for students aged 9–13 who are currently in Wukong levels A3–A7.

The Summer Challenge is open to all students, and parents can register directly. Registration details and fees follow Math League’s official announcement each year. Families in Asia should follow the official instructions and contact the organizer separately.

School Grades 4 / 5 / 6 match EC-ML4 / EC-ML5 / EC-ML6. For British-system and K13 school systems (including New Zealand and Australia), register one grade lower, so Years 5 / 6 / 7 match EC-ML4 / 5 / 6. Use the grade your child will have completed in July 2027, not the grade they will enter next. Students may also compete at a higher level. Not sure? Book a free trial class and our teacher will help you decide.

The course helps students master the key topics and answering techniques. Results vary by student, and we do not guarantee any specific award.

No. The 4 pre-contest sprint classes are bonus lessons included with the core course: high-frequency topic review, a Speed Round full mock exam, Speed Round practice with three years of past contests, and error review with technique building.
